Pleasant Valley PTA

Dear Pleasant  Valley Families,

Each year Pleasant Valley holds several fundraisers to raise money for essential enrichment programs, technology, and materials that would not be available otherwise due to the limited education funds provided by the state of California.  The fundraisers in the following table raise money for the PTA General Fund, which supports the budget voted on by the PTA as a whole at the beginning of each year.  PV PTA program information can be found on the back of this page.  More detailed program information can be found on the website www.PVRocks.org.  We have raised $60,781 combined so far this year!   Although this is a large sum of money, we have a long way to go to reach our goal of $150K.  We were successful in raising $150K last year, and we are confident we can do it again this year with 100% participation from our PV families!

We have raised LESS money this year than we did at this same time last year.  Family Giving Campaign donations are down 50%!  Perhaps many of you have “just not gotten around to making your annual donations this year.”  If you are one of these people:

There are 2 remaining fundraisers in which to make your donation:

1. The Annual Auction/Dinner/Dance – We encourage you to donate goods and go online to purchase goods from the auction.  This is a great way to make a donation, while getting something great in return!
2. The Family Giving Campaign (FGC) – Last year the Family Giving Campaign raised $62K dollars for our school.  FGC is the easiest way to make a difference.  100% of every donation goes directly to the PTA General Fund and the donation is fully tax deductible.

Because the education funding provided by the state of California is still shrinking, our school and district will face even deeper budget cuts next year as evidenced by the recent issuance of pink slips.  The cuts make the funds raised by our PTA more critical than ever.  We urge you to participate in the Online Auction at pveagles.maestroweb.com and/or make a donation to Family Giving.  FGC forms can be downloaded on our site here, picked up in the office, or donations can be made online using the link  donate2pv.org   No amount is too small.  Please support our children and our school.  Together we can make a difference in our children’s education!!!
